The Best Tacos in Norman? We Think So.

Featres 3 tacos without cilantro and 4 with including: barbacoa, pollo, asada, and pastor

El Taco Loko is a small food truck in the parking lot next to the corner gas sation of 24th and Highway 9. They have hands down not just the best tacos in all of Norman but also the most affordable.

It’s located just 5 minutes from the Talley Estate, making it perfect for a quick lunch, easy dinner, or late-night taco run after a long day exploring Norman or cheering on the Sooners.

Taco Loko is a small food truck with a covered outdoor eating area, though we often grab it to-go and bring it back to the house. One thing to know before you go: they’re cash only. Thankfully, both the gas station and smoke shop next door have ATMs available.

The food is incredibly affordable — tacos are just $2 each — and every come with cilantro, and onion. (Though if you unfortunately suffer from the cilantro-tastes-like-soap gene, you can absolutely order without it and or the onions.)

Honestly, we’ve never gotten something we didn’t like.

My personal favorite? The jamón torta.

It’s sort of like a hot ham sandwich loaded with avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and so much flavor. It’s one of those meals you start craving again the second you finish it. It also makes excellent leftovers.

If you’re visiting with a group, you can also call ahead ahead of time for larger orders, which makes it an easy option for families, friend groups, or OU game weekends at the house.

Taco Loko is one of those places that feels very Norman to us — unfussy, affordable, and always good.

They are closed Sunday and located at 1728 24th Ave SW Norman, OK 73072

The menu features a wide variety of options. Call 405-600-8658 to order ahead.
